Many times earlier, the idea of starting a library dried up as it blooms, either by lack of confidence or proper leadership. But in 1944, finally they decided not to give up, but to implement. The first committee members were Johnson D'cruz Palathil, Jose Koickary, Jerome (London), Gasper Pereira(USA), James Mevaram, Anthony Pereira, M. V. Paulose, Joseph, David, Johnson D'cruz, the Secretary and William Puthukara, the President. Fund raising had started with a nominal monthly fee of 1 Chakra was the humble beginning. You figureo out its value.
In 1946, Jai Hind Juniors Football Club was transformed into the Union Grandhasala, and later Jai Hind Vayanasala under the leadership of Joseph D'cruz and A.G. William, who were the eminent undergraduate students at Palayamkotta St. Xavier's College. The other enthusiastic members were Messrs. James Netto, Samson D'cruz, Edwin P. Fernandez (USA), Ceasar Lopez, Albey D'cruz (Singapore), Barlo D'cruz, Jose Miranda, James D'cruz, Ignatius Pereira, Anucletus Lopez (a spirited soccer player, who couldn't attend his own brother's wedding, because of the death threat followed by a football game), D. M. Bosco, E. B. Mussolini, Stellus Netto, Lazar Silva, Jobauy Fernandez, Ithas Lopez, Adolf Fernandez, Garnet D'cruz, Basil D'cruz, and many unsung heroes.
Few years later, anniversary was celebrated in a big way at Puthenthope LPS auditorium. Education minister Sri Panambally Govinda Menon was the first chief guest when the office bearers were Messrs. George D'cruz-president, George Netto - secretary, Samson D'cruz - librarian. After that, each year, the eminent people like 'Mahakavi' M. P. Appan, Dr. Vellayani Arjunan, P. Kesavadev, O.N.V. Kurup, M. T. Vasudevan Nair, George Onakkoor, 'Vilasini, 'G. N. Panicker, O. Ayyaneth, B. Rajeevan, Bichu Thirumala, Syam Prasad, Dr. Puthusseri Ramachandran...attended the anniversary and inspired everyone of us.
Since 1971, the chief guest presents Leyon Lopez Trophy to
the winners of All Kerala Drama Festival.
Then began a Jai Hind Football Tournament, which became the trade mark of Jai Hind.
Now, I hope,  the new generation is taking Jai Hind to a much higher level with hard work and integrity.
